WHO:        Caltrans District 11 Interim Director Tim Gubbins, Caltrans District Division Chief of Maintenance Everett Townsend, and California Highway Patrol Media Information Officer Jim Bettencourt
                                  

WHAT:     Caltrans and CHP will describe the increase of litter along freeways, the hazards to motorists and waterways, the types and amounts of trash collected, and the costs to taxpayers for removing litter each year in San Diego County.

A massive pile of large debris items collected from area freeways.

Demonstrations, including how to properly secure a load.

A Caltrans work crew convoy will demonstrate use of safety equipment, including a sweeper and guard rail truck.
