Inquiry #1: Section 39-2.01C(4)(a) was specifically modified to read that all lanes will be paved to matched up to each other every night. With the tight paving windows this will be a challenge. Can this be changed to read that the adjacent joint will be matched the following shift.

Inquiry #2: There are many locations where this highway is damaged beyond the .1' grind. How is Caltrans going to address those issues with out any dig-outs on this project?

Inquiry #3: Section 39-2 specifies an overlay thickness of 1.2". The pavement marking material manufacturer required a 1.5" overlay thickness to warranty the stripes, Section 84-5, pg 25. Please clarify.

Inquiry #4: Bid items 15 thru 20 for Striping have no mention of Warranty
In the Specs 84-5 Warranty for Traffic Stripes & Pavement Markings is called out on pages 17-20
Is this really required for this project?

Inquiry #5: The Notice to Bidders states there are 55 Working day to complete this work. With the short work hours and the work to be done in a single shift, 55 WK DA will not be enough time to complete the contract. Please consider increasing the Working Days to 85 Working Days.

Inquiry #6: The new spec for warranty thermo requires a manufacturer's warranty bond for 5 years. Currently, there is only one manufacturer offering this warranty, and they require at least 1.5" overlay or the warranty is void, disqualifying this project for their product. Therefore, there is no way to responsibly bid the thermoplastic striping on this project. Please advise.
