Southbound Interstate 15 at West Bernardo Road Set for Mid-week Closure

SAN DIEGO – All lanes of southbound Interstate 15 (I-15) will be closed at West Bernardo Drive on Thursday (8/3) from 11:30 p.m. to 4:30 a.m. Friday (8/4). This closure is called to continue work at the future Highland Valley Road (Pomerado Road) Overcrossing just south of Lake Hodges.

Motorists will be taken off the freeway at West Bernardo Drive. From there, they can go southbound on West Bernardo Drive to Rancho Bernardo Road and back onto I-15. Detour signs will be posted throughout the closure to aid motorists.

“This bridge is an important part of our construction process,” said Gustaf Silva, Caltrans assistant Resident Engineer for this project. “By effecting this closure, we can help keep the project on time without causing a major disruption to ordinary traffic on the freeway.”
