I-15 From State Route 56 to Camino del Norte
Subject to Closure Sunday through Wednesday
SAN DIEGO – Both directions of Interstate 15 (I-15) between State Route 56 and Camino del Norte near the city of Poway will be closed this Sunday through Wednesday, from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m., according to the California Department of Transportation (Caltrans). Also, both directions of Carmel Mountain Road and Camino del Norte will also be closed as these surface streets pass over and under I-15 on various day and times during the closure period.

The closures are being called so that work crews can perform assorted demolition, striping falsework and barrier placement within the construction limits. Detour signs will be posted in advance of the closure to alert motorists to use alternate route. Delays are expected to last no longer than 15 – 20 minutes.
This work is part of a $427 million effort to build the “Middle Segment” of the I-15 Managed Lanes freeway improvement project. When completed and opened to traffic by late 2007 or early 2008, the freeway will feature state-of-the-art lanes in the roadway median, which will service carpools, vanpools and buses. Single-occupant vehicles will also have access to the managed lanes for a fee.
