Southbound Interstate 15 Closed Between Mercy Road and Mira Mesa Boulevard

SAN DIEGO –Interstate 15 (I-15) will be closed southbound between Mercy Road and Mira Mesa Boulevard Tuesday evening, July 15, from 11:30 to 5 a.m. on Wednesday, according to the California Department of Transportation (Caltrans).

The express lanes will be open at no cost for motorists traveling south of the SR 163/I-15 split. Detour signs will be posted to route local commuters between Mercy Road and Mira Mesa Boulevard.

The closure is necessary to remove the existing overhead signage to accommodate the expansion of the southbound lanes.

This work is part of the south segment of the project, which began construction in March of 2008 and will be completed at the end of 2012.
