Interstate 5/Lomas Santa Fe Interchange Work Postponed
SAN DIEGO –The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) announced it will close all lanes of Lomas Santa Fe Drive under Interstate 5 from 10 tonight to 2 a.m. tomorrow morning, July 23.
The on- and off-ramps in both directions will remain open but Lomas Santa Fe under the bridge will be closed. Caltrans recommends that motorists use parallel city streets or bridges to cross I-5.
Two new loop-style on-ramps are being constructed to better direct traffic onto the freeway and improve local traffic flow on Lomas Santa Fe Drive. The work is part of the I-5 North Coast Corridor Project, which is funded by the voter-approved Proposition 1B Transportation Bond and TransNet, San Diego County’s half-cent sales tax.
