Welcome to the District 11 Small Business Outreach Website

In District 11, “We Make Small Business Our Business” by providing a range of easily accessible outreach services to Small Businesses (SB), Disadvantaged Business Enterprises (DBE), and Disabled Veterans Business Enterprises (DVBE). If you are certified as an SB, DBE or DVBE, our Small Business liaisons can help guide you in understanding the requirements of the Caltrans bid process. It’s our goal at Caltrans to open up a range of opportunities for certified small businesses and disadvantaged business enterprises to compete successfully for Caltrans contracts and procurements.

We’re committed to this goal in District 11 and we need the active participation of your small business in order to help accomplish it. Our liaisons can also help assist you in the process of maximizing your business potential by referring you to one of the Small Business Development Centers (SBDC) located throughout San Diego and Imperial Counties. These SBDC’s are dedicated to increasing the economic vitality of their communities by teaching small businesses and entrepreneurs the necessary skills for building a solid financial foundation and growing your business.

Caltrans District 11 also hosts an annual Procurement Fair, a Prime Contractor’s Award, the Architects & Engineers Networking Fair and a Small Business Certification Fair yearly. All events are geared to assisting the small business community in strengthening your competitive edge, while providing opportunities for you to sell your products to our divisions and departments. Whether you are a prime contractor, a subcontractor, or a supplier, our events promote networking opportunities that help you build long lasting and profitable relationships.

If your business is not yet certified, our business liaisons can also help guide you through the process of applying for certification, which in most cases takes only a few weeks. Your business can then be on its way to competing effectively for Caltrans contracts as a vital economic partner with Caltrans and the small business community.
