Spanish Creek Bridge

Spanish Creek Bridge The purpose of the project is to provide a new crossing that meets modern highway design standards and accommodates interregional transportation needs. The Spanish Creek Bridge (Bridge No. 9-15) was constructed in 1932 and has exceeded its expected service life. The bridge exhibits signs of significant structural fatigue, does not meet modern seismic standards, does not have standard shoulder width, and cannot accommodate some extra large truckloads due to lane width and structural limitations for weight loading.

Project Location: This bridge replacement project is located in Plumas County on State Route 70, approximately nine miles west of Quincy, near the town of Keddie.

Project Cost: Approximately $38 million

Current Status: Project alternatives have been developed and the environmental studies are progressing. Completion of the Environmental Document is targeted for August 2008.

Project Milestones: Design Complete June 2009
