DOWNTOWN WEED REHAB - The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) and contractor J.F. Shea will begin a highway pavement rehabilitation project through the City of Weed on U.S. 97 from College Avenue to the railroad overhead and on State Route 265. In addition to new pavement, a new signal will improve traffic flow and sidewalks will be modified to comply with the Americans with Disabilities Act Standards.

DEADHORSE SUMMIT - The purpose of this safety project is to improve the highway alignment and geometrics of State Route (SR) 89 near Dead Horse Summit. The project proposes to modify two horizontal curves, widen shoulders to 8 feet, develop a clear recovery zone, increase sun exposure to the highway, and elevate the highway to reduce the possibility of icing during the winter. |

SR 89 / I- 5 INTERCHANGE - The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) will begin an operational improvement project at the Interstate 5, State Route 89 and I-5/South Mount Shasta Boulevard interchanges, south of the City of Mount Shasta. The project will consist of reconstruction or relocation of ramps and the construction of new connecting links to local routes. Environmental studies will begin in Summer 2008. |
