State Route 99 Fairmead Project - In December of 2006, Caltrans in cooperation with FCI Constructors, Inc., broke ground on a $51 million dollar project. The purpose of this project is to improve safety and traffic circulation, while providing congestion relief and enhancing freeway capacity. This project is located just north of Avenue 20 to just south of the State Route 99/152 separation and will convert 3 miles of State Route 99 from a 4 lane expressway to a 6 lane divided freeway.
