The responses to bidder's inquiries, unless incorporated into a formal addendem to the contract, are not a part of the contract and are provided for the bidder's convenience only. The availability or use of information provided in the responses to bidder's inquiries is not to be construed in any way as a waiver of the provisions of Section 2-1.03 of the Standard Specifications or any other provision of the contract, the plans, Standard Specifications or Special Provisions, nor to excuse the contractor from full compliance with those contract requirements. Q1) According to Section 5-1.15 of the Special Provisions: Cross sections are available in paper copy. Where may the contractor obtain these cross sections? Stockton Blue Reprographics has yet to receive a set for reproduction.

Q2) Item 49 shows 635 M2. Specials call for coverage at 2.2 M2/L. Total liters required would be approx. 287 liters. Item 50 shows 1,440 liters of the required material. Where does the balance of 1,153 liters of bridge deck treatment material go ?
A) Regarding Item No. 50, "FURNISH BRIDGE DECK TREATMENT MATERIAL (LOW ODOR)," the approximate application rate specified under "Construction" in Section 10-1.35, "Treat Bridge Decks," of the special provisions is correct. Note "Measurement and Payment" states, "Furnishing the high molecular weight methacrylate resin will be measured by the liter of mixed material actually placed and will be paid for as furnish bridge deck treatment material. No payment will be made for material wasted or not used in the work."
