Q) Regarding the new service shown per note 4 on sheet E3, listed as "type III-CF", this service calls for 2 200 amp meter sockets and 200 amp main breakers. Standard plans page ES-2F, lists the CF as " ...with provisions for two 100A meters (typical). The equipment requested along with the socket and MCB rating will not adequately fit in a typical III-CF enclosure. Can a modified dual metered Type III-AF be provided for this service location?

A) It appears that there is an error in the rating specified for the main circuit breakers (Item No.15) shown on Sheet E-3 of the plans. A Type III-CF service enclosure should be provided as indicated, and the equipment should fit. In the absence of an addendum to address this, you should bid in accordance with the contract plans and documents.

Q) Are the application rates for Compost (Erosion Control) at 940 Kilograms per Hectare or 940 Cubic Meters Per Hectare? The pay item in the Engineer's Estimate for Item No. 13(S) for Compost (Erosion Control) is only 94 KG. Please clarify if possible.

A) The application rate for compost is 940 cubic meters per hectare, as stated in Special Provision Section 10-1.16, "Erosion Control (Type D)", under subsection "Application". The unit of measure was inadvertently shown as Kilogram in the Engineer's Estimate. Therefore, a conversion will need to be made from the measured quantity of compost used in cubic meters to the quantity to be paid, in kilograms. Please bid in accordance with the contract plans and documents.
