The responses to bidder's inquiries, unless incorporated into a formal addendem to the contract, are not a part of the contract and are provided for the bidder's convenience only. In some instances, the question and answer may represent a summary of the matters discussed rather than a word-for-word recitation. The availability or use of information provided in the responses to bidder's inquiries is not to be construed in any way as a waiver of the provisions of Section 2-1.03 of the Standard Specifications or any other provision of the contract, the plans, Standard Specifications or Special Provisions, nor to excuse the contractor from full compliance with those contract requirements. Bidders are cautioned that subsequent responses or contract addenda may affect or vary a response previously given.

Q1) Is the stamped stone pattern a bominate stamp or approved equal ?

A1) The Special Provisions state that the color and pattern for textured concrete shall closely conform to the textured paving located at Ming Ave in Bakersfield. This does not necessarily stipulate the use of Bomanite products. Other manufacturers may also meet the specification. Approved equal to the Bomanite product is acceptable.

Q2) On Electrical Service, E-1, Sheet # 18 calls for the installation of a phone line. Please provide the name of the company servicing the telephone line. Please also provide the location of the connection for the phone line.

A2) Sheet E-1 (#18) does not show anything that calls for the installation of a phone line.

Q3) On the controller's description on page 62 (Irrigation Controllers), it describes a trucking radio. Do we need both the phone line and the trucking radio for the controller?

A3) The controller will only need a trunking radio. No phone line is necessary.
