Q1) Please provide the Class of pipe needed for the two systems on this job.

A) The contractor can use any class of pipe (600-mm in diameter) for these two systems. Please refer to Section 65-1.02A Circular Reinforced Concrete Pipe, 3rd paragraph.


Q2) Where is Item for Water Pollution Control?

A) Caltrans has implemented a new procedure for storm water management. Water Pollution Control item number 074020 has been discontinued along with the Cost Breakdown Table. Foreseeable bid items are included for a particular project. Such as, in this project a Temporary Concrete Washout is included as a line item. The Water Pollution Control Plan is prepared by the Contractor and details the Water Pollution Control Strategy for the project.


Q3) What is the definition of Construction Site Management?

A) We now use Construction Site Management item number 074016 as a bid item. Construction Site Management includes BMP's for Non-Storm Water Management, Waste Management, and Materials Pollution Control and are identified in the SSP.
