The Angeles Crest Highway through the Angeles National Forest in Los Angeles County is a U.S. Forest Service Scenic Byway and State Scenic Highway and winds along the spine of the San Gabriel Mountains. There are many vista points from which the motorist can enjoy panoramic views of the Mojave Desert, San Gabriel Mountains as well as the San Gabriel and Pomona Valleys. On especially clear days, Santa Catalina Island can be seen.
