Inquiry #2: I am the supplier of weed control mat, item 60, 15,400 sqyd on this project.
I am unable to come up with the quantities you are requesting.
Sheet 38 of 346(C5) shows all weed mat at 3' wide. Example:
Engineer call out #147 states 5,900lf DTBB Stl Post x3' wide = 17,700 sqft
17700/9=1966 sqyd.
On the median barrier table, 2nd line items station 352+00 to sta 359+42 calls out for 742lf DTBB and 742sqyd.
742'of 3' wide weedmat= 2,226 sqft
2226/9=247.33sqyd and you call out 742. I see this pattern throughout many locations on Sheet Q-5. Please advise how I should bid this.

Inquiry #14: At the top of page 136 of the project special provisions under Widening it states that when widening the existing pavement section the new structural section must match the existing pavement's edge in increments of not more than 1,000 feet before the next segment of shoulder can be widened. Can the new shoulder widening section be built using the aggregate base to make a 4:1 safety slope of more than 1,000 feet before we pave the new shoulder so that we can keep the cost down by being able to pave more footage and getting more volume to pave in each new section.

Inquiry #18: Please clarify the intent of Bid Item #77 (Pavement Transition Taper), with respect to addendum #1. Does the limits of pay include only the excavation and replacement of concrete that is to be removed for the AC taper and not the 12' transition panel (which is a part of the approach slab) ? Can you please provide widths, lengthes, depths and locations of each taper?

Response #2:The 12' transition panel is not part of the approach slab. The 12' transition panel(concrete) is paid as Bid Item #77, Pavement Transition Taper. Bid Opening Date is Friday and an Addendum will not be issued and no additional information will be provided.

Response #2:Section 8-1.02 have all the State Furnished items listed as "Model 500 CMS, wiring harness, controller assembly, and Central control system which includes ethernet switches" (see electrical sheet E-15 detail 'B' for ethernet switch). CMS Controller assembly includes controller unit and completely wired cabinet.

Section 10-3.10 only refers to "STATE -FURNISHED CONTROLLER ASSEMBLIES" which is Model 170 controller assembly for CMS as mentioned in section 8-1.02.

Per Section 10-3.17 MODEL 500 CHANGEABLE MESSAGE SIGN SYSTEM
The State-furnished controller assembly will be a Model 170E controller assembly with a completely wired Model 334LC cabinet.

Section 10-3.12 DETECTORS
The State-furnished loop detector sensor units are not required in this contract.

Inquiry #23: Ref Layout plan sheets # 7 to 22 and cross section plan sheets 2 to 5 and Stage Constr. plan Sheet 59.

1- Except for N/B and S/B outside shoulders performed in Stage 3, Behind Temporary K Rail, you apparrently intend all other N/B and S/B outside shoulders to be constructed only with channelizers, without K Rail. Please confirm this to be your requirement.
2- If #1 above is confirmed as not generally requiring K Rail, there will be at least two periods of the Staged Construction where existing or new MBGR, N/B and S/B outside shoulders is at lower than 27 3/4" ( or new 29") above finish grade, due to pavement and shoulder HMA overlays. Please confirm that this non-conforming, potentially unsafe condition is your intent.
