Gabion Mesh Corrosion - Field Study of Test Panels and Full-scale Facilities

The second edition of the final research report, GABION MESH CORROSION Field Study of Test Panels and Full-scale Facilities (November 2001) was intended for distribution as a paperless report, and it is about 27.2 Mb. The report is in PDF format, which can only be opened if you have ADOBE Acrobat Reader 4 or higher. If you do not have Acrobat Reader, then you can download a free copy : Get Acrobat Reader

With the relatively large file size (27.2 Mb), if you have a slow Internet connection, then you may order the report on CD-ROM from the National Technical Information Service (NTIS). See box 18 on the Technical Report Documentation (Abstract) page for the NTIS phone number and address. When ordering from NTIS, cite the Government Accession No. (PB2001-102895) in addition to the report title, subtitle, and authors. A CD-ROM may also be obtained from the author or the Caltrans Technology Transfer Branch, Division of New Technology and Research. After you get the CD-ROM (or downloaded and saved the report to your hard drive), see report page 107 (add 12 to get the ADOBE Acrobat page number), for tips on printing a copy of the report.

All of the conclusions and all of the recommendations in both editions are identical. For general guidance see CONCLUSIONS (last paragraph of page 99, all of page 100), RECOMMENDATIONS (pages 101 through 105), and APPENDIX A (pages 110 and 126). Owners of the first edition (May 2001) should replace pages 16, 56, and 107 . The cover, signature, and Technical Report Documentation pages were changed to reflect the November 2001 date. A few other pages have minor corrections. All of the photos were darkened to improve the images.

Printed (hard-copy) reports are not available from Caltrans, the author, or the Technology Transfer Branch. A hard-copy (1st edition, May 2001) is available for loan at the Caltrans Headquarters Library, 1120 N Street, in Sacramento, CA.
