Capital Projects South Branch
- Conducts planning, programming and development of Intercity Rail Capital Projects (project proposals, applications and project study reports)
- Assists local agencies in implementation of capital projects
- Administers capital project contracts
- Develops plans for funding individual projects through STIP, and in coordination with other entities (freight railroads, Amtrak, commuter railroads, and local and regional agencies)
- Coordinates with Amtrak, commuter railroads, and local and regional agencies on capital project development and implementation in the six counties that comprise the Pacific Surfliner Route: San Diego, Orange, Los Angeles, Ventura, Santa Barbara, and San Luis Obispo.
- Monitors train and bus services for quality and consistency
Capital Projects North Branch
- Conducts planning, programming and development of Intercity Rail Capital Projects (project proposals, applications and project study reports)
- Assists local agencies in implementation of capital projects
- Administers capital project contracts
- Develops plans for funding individual projects through STIP, and in coordination with other entities (freight railroads, Amtrak, commuter railroads, and local and regional agencies)
- Coordinates with Amtrak, commuter railroads, and local and regional agencies on capital project development and implementation on the routes of Amtrak California's San Joaquin and Capitol Corridor.
- Provides staff support and information to the San Joaquin Valley Rail Advisory Committee.
- Monitors train and bus services for quality and consistency
Marketing Branch
- Provides marketing and public relation services for intercity rail and connecting buses to increase ridership
- Sponsors rail safety information programs including Operation Lifesaver; develops safety materials focused on various groups
- Conducts market research programs, including ridership, revenue modeling and passenger surveys
- Plans and implements improved passenger information services including station and on-board signage and announcements, marketing collaterals and the Amtrak California web site amtrakcalifornia.com.
